Here is my week 2 college baseball Power 10. My top 5 will stay the same with UCLA, LSU, Texas, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State.
No. 1 UCLA (Prev. 1)
UCLA stays on top after a top 10 sweep over then-No. 7 TCU. Outfielder Will Gasparino had a big weekend at the plate, hitting .538 with five homers, and shortstop Roch Cholowsky added five of his own.
No. 2 LSU (Prev. 2)
LSU moved to 8-0 and added wins over Indiana and Notre Dame last week. Scored 34 runs over the weekend.
No. 3 Texas (Prev. 3)
The Longhorns remained undefeated with a sweep over Michigan State, which won its series against Louisville on the road last week.
No. 4 Georgia Tech (Prev. 4)
The Yellow Jackets notched five wins over the weekend after a strong performance at the plate.
No. 5 Mississippi State (Prev. 5)
Mississippi State remained undefeated at 8-0, handling Delaware easily.
MIDWEEK MAYHEM: Four ranked baseball teams fall in first taste of Tuesday battles
No. 6 Arkansas (Prev. 7)
The Razorbacks moved up a spot this week. They swept Xavier at home, and left-hander Colin Fischer threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout on Sunday.
No. 7 Auburn (Prev. 9)
Auburn dropped to seven after a midweek loss to Cincinnati, but then had a great weekend with wins over Florida State, Louisville, and Kansas State. Left-hander Jake Marciano threw six scoreless innings with no walks and eight strikeouts to take down Kansas State.
No. 8 North Carolina (Prev. 10)
The Tar Heels are at eight after splitting the series with East Carolina before tying the last game, cut short due to weather. But right-hander Jason DeCaro looked stellar in a complete game shutout, eight innings pitched with seven strikeouts.
No. 9 Oklahoma (Prev. NR)
Now for some big changes.
I am bringing Oklahoma into the rankings at No. 9. I don't care where they started in any preseason ranking; this team is 7-0 now with wins over Texas Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma State, and went 4-0 last weekend, while outscoring Coppin State 57-1. Seventh straight game of scoring 10-plus runs.
No. 10 Georgia (Prev. NR)
And finally, at 10, I have Georgia entering the top 10. They completed their sweep over Samford on Sunday with a 22-0. Third baseman Tre Phelps had a stellar showing over the weekend.
