Rematch of the 2024 MCWS final: Apr. 4 - 6

Last year’s MCWS final between Tennessee and Texas A&M was a headbanger, specifically the third game where the Aggies’ comeback fell short.

Well, the two teams will meet for the first time this season on Apr. 4 - 6 in Knoxville, giving both programs and fan bases a chance to evaluate where they are since their last meeting in Omaha nearly 10 months prior.

TAMU and the Volunteers each enter the season with high expectations. Both teams are ranked in D1baseball’s preseason Top 25 rankings — Texas A&M ranked No. 1 and Tennessee at No. 4.

The two squads will compete in the 2025 Astros Foundation College Classic on Feb. 28 - Mar. 2, but won’t face one another, making April’s matchup even more must-see.

Start of SEC conference play: Mar. 14

March marks a new stage in the college baseball season: conference play. Each conference will either kick things off the second or third weekend of the month, including the SEC on Mar. 14-16.

The last five winners of the MCWS have come from the conference — seven in the last 10 years — and they arguably have the best odds to bring the 2025 title back to the Deep South again. Six of the top 10 teams in the Top 25 are in the SEC.

Here’s a look at the conference’s schedule that weekend:

  • No. 1 Texas A&M vs. Alabama
  • No. 5 Arkansas at Ole Miss
  • No. 16 Vanderbilt at Auburn
  • No. 4 Tennessee vs. No. 10 Florida
  • No. 8 Georgia vs. Kentucky
  • No. 3 LSU vs. Missouri
  • No. 18 Mississippi State vs. No. 19 Texas
  • Oklahoma at South Carolina
