Oklahoma's record-breaking bats, Anna Brewers' three-position inning headline wild week in college softball

There's a new No. 1 in the college softball Power 10 rankings

Even if there is madness on the court in March, never doubt the drama on the diamond.

NCAA record-breaking hit streaks, conference home run records and a few things to cross off your bingo card headline the must-see moments from this week in college softball.

Check them out below.

1. Oklahoma breaks an SEC home run record

The Sooners have set a new SEC single-season home run record through 32 games with 122 blasts, eclipsing their previous record set last season with 121.

🏆 WHO'S ON TOP? There's a new No. 1 in this week's college softball Power 10

The Sooners clinched the record in their 14-2 run-rule victory over Ole Miss on Saturday, as freshmen Kai Minor knocked two roundtrippers and senior Abby Dayton added a grand slam.

To put things into a bit more perspective, the next closest SEC team is Florida with 71 home runs. The OU freshmen alone would rank fourth overall in the SEC team standings, responsible for 48.

Kendall Wells is a major part of the freshmen impact on the Sooner squad, homering in 20 of 32 games while leading college softball with 25 bombs and tying the SEC record for most by a freshman. Her mark is just five shy of the NCAA DI freshman record, held by former Oklahoma Sooner, Jocelyn Alo, and two others.

After the series finale against the Rebels, No. 3 Oklahoma stands at 129 home runs and looks to chase the all-time DI NCAA single-season record of 158

2. Anna Brewer's three-position inning for Stanford

Check this one off your softball bingo card.

In No. 22 Stanford's 15-12 series finale win over UNC, freshman Anna Brewer rotated through three different positions during the bottom of the seventh.

The righty hurler started the frame on the mound before moving to right field and first base for a few batters. Brewer returned to the mound for a second time before being placed back at right field as the Tar Heels cashed in three runs to cut the deficit to within three.

With the bases loaded and two outs, Brewer returned to the circle one last time, earning the final strikeout to secure the series sweep.

3. Maya Johnson grabs 1,000th career strikeout

Belmont star pitcher Maya Johnson's senior season has already been characterized by high success. As one of the most coveted players in the portal last season, her decision to stay at Belmont brought more eyes to her than ever this year.

So far in 2026, the lefty has earned 15 wins in the circle with 215 strikeouts on a .60 ERA.

That domination continued on Tuesday, as Johnson clinched her 1000th career strikeout in the Bruins' 7-1 win over Murray State. Her 12 putaways on the night pushed her to become the 101st NCAA DI softball player to reach the milestone, standing as the only active player to boast the feat.

4. Isa Torres extends her NCAA consecutive hit record

Isa Torres continued her hot streak in No. 10 Florida State's series sweep over Cal.

The Seminole junior initially earned the top spot for most consecutive hits in NCAA DI softball history in FSU's Friday night contest with 14-straight knocks.
