For the first time in history, women’s collegiate wrestling will compete as an official NCAA championship sport. This is a landmark moment for the fastest-growing high school sport in the country for girls.
The road to the championship will begin with six regional qualifying tournaments. The top three athletes at each of the ten weight classes will qualify for the national tournament. The regions are broken up as follows:

Division I, II and III will all compete for the same spots at the NCAA tournament. This will change in 2028 when DIII schools will be separated into their own division.

Iowa currently has eight of its ten wrestlers ranked No. 1 in its region, including Valarie Solorio (103), Nyla Valencia (110), Karlee Brooks (131), Lilly Luft (138), Reese Larramendy (145), Kennedy Blades (160), Kylie Welker (180) and Katja Osteen (207).
Schedule
Regionals are scheduled for Feb. 20-22. The first sessions each day will begin at 12pm. Matches can be streamed on FloWrestling.org.
The 2026 NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championship is scheduled for March 6–7, 2026, at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
