2026 National Collegiate Skiing Championships to relocate to Utah

The 2026 National Collegiate Skiing Championships will be relocated to Utah Olympic Park (Alpine) and the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center (Nordic) in Park City/Midway, Utah, on March 11-14. Utah will be the host school for the championships.

The event was scheduled to be hosted by Montana State at Bridger Bowl Ski Area (Alpine) and the Crosscut Mountain Sports Center (Nordic) in Bozeman, Montana. The difficult decision to relocate the championships was made by the  National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee due to the lack of snow in the Bozeman area. The Division I Cabinet Subcommittee approved the new host site.

Committee members think the change in venues creates the highest level of competition for the student-athletes. Additionally, the committee prioritized keeping the championship competition sites near each other so that participants can support their teammates and the championship throughout.

“The NCAA Championships are the premier event of the year for our skiing student-athletes, and while we are unable to compete in Montana as we had planned, the skiing committee is very appreciative for all the efforts that Montana State University has made to prepare for a successful championship,” said Jim Dwyer, committee chair and director of skiing and head coach of Alpine skiing at Dartmouth. “The unprecedented lack of snow has forced the championships to Utah, where we are confident that we will have the championship event that we have become accustomed to having. I want to thank both Montana State and the University of Utah for their efforts as we navigate this change of venue.”

The move does not affect a previous and separate announcement that Utah will host the 2028 National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
