INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Men’s Volleyball Committee announced today the field of 12 teams vying for the 2026 National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The top four teams are seeded into the bracket and are separated at four regional sites of competition. The regional-round will be played on May 1 with the regional-finals taking place on May 2. The winning team from each regional-final will advance to the finals site on May 9 and 11 at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, with the University of California, Los Angeles serving as host.
Seven conferences were awarded automatic bids for the 2026 tournament. The remaining five were selected at-large. The automatic qualifiers are Long Beach State (Big West Conference), Belmont Abbey (Conference Carolinas), Penn State (Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association), Ball State (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association), UCLA (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), Saint Francis (Northeast Conference) and Fort Valley State (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). The teams selected at-large are Hawaii, Loyola Chicago, Pepperdine, Southern California and UC Irvine.
UCLA enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will host and play the winner of the regional-round in Pauley Pavilion between UC Irvine and Penn State. Hawaii, the No. 2 seed, will host and play the winner of the regional-round between Southern California and Belmont Abbey which will be held at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Long Beach enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will host and play the winner of Loyola Chicago and Saint Francis at the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid. Ball State, the No. 4 seed, will host and play the winner of Pepperdine and Fort Valley State at Riverview Health Arena in Noblesville, Indiana. All match times will be posted on vipkrikya888.com (listed in Eastern time) and matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
Both national semifinal games will be broadcast on Saturday, May 9. The first semifinal match will be streamed on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. Eastern/3:30 p.m. Pacific, with the second semifinal match also being streamed on ESPN+ at 9:30 Eastern/6:30 p.m. Pacific. The national championship match will take place at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific, Monday, May 11, on ESPN2.
The 2025 championship was played in Columbus, Ohio with Long Beach State capturing its fourth national championship over UCLA.
